Volunteer

Berry Street is grateful for the assistance of our generous volunteers. Volunteers are called upon on a needs basis to assist in our office with fundraising and administration and for key events throughout the year.

Our corporate volunteering program.

Berry Street strives to provide worthwhile volunteering opportunities as a key component of our business partnerships.

As individuals or in groups, our volunteers make meaningful and valuable contributions to events, fundraising campaigns and in support of specific programs and day-to-day operations.

We also provide evaluation sheets to each volunteer, tailored to the specific activity. Their experiences allow us to provide formal feedback to their organisation, as well as continually improve the efficiency, effectiveness and relevance of our volunteering program.
As our highly sought after volunteering opportunities are limited, we can only offer these as part of a broader partnership agreement. Volunteering must be complemented by at least one other form of support, such as Workplace (Payroll) Giving, pro bono services, or direct program funding.

Community volunteering

Unfortunately, we have currently reached capacity for volunteering opportunities in 2011. We are grateful for any offer to support the work we do with Victorian children, young people and families and there are other ways you can support our cause. Holding a fundraising event for Berry Street is a fantastic way to support us, see below for some inspiration!

Fundraise for Berry Street

We can help you with ideas to fundraise for the children and young people in our care. Fundraising ideas include:

  • A dinner where everyone donates the money they would usually spend at a restaurant to attend your fundraiser
  • A movie night at home where your friends donate the cost of a cinema ticket to attend, and bring some food to share
  • A morning tea or brunch with your friends, family or colleagues.

Link any of the above ideas with an event such as Victorian Racing Carnival, end of year celebrations, Australia Day, or your birthday, and make this a party with a real purpose. Your fundraising efforts will help disadvantaged children across Victoria get access to the housing, education and care they deserve. Please email or call us to arrange.

We also need help for our Berry Merry Christmas appeal. This year we need 9,000 new gifts to help us fulfil Christmas dreams for over 1,500 from children who otherwise may get nothing. To find out more about you can help visit our
Berry Merry page.

Skilled Volunteering

Berry Street recognises that individuals within organisations and the community more broadly have a wealth of knowledge, experience and specialised skills in professions such as IT, HR, Marketing and Law. By donating your time and expertise at this level you can support us to help the children and young people in our care.

To discuss how you or your organisation can assist Berry Street with specialised skills and expertise please
