Helen Stokes is the Associate Dean of Equity and Diversity at Melbourne Graduate School of Education. She has completed research projects and grants locally, nationally and internationally. Her areas of investigation are:

- vocational pathways for young people
- trauma-informed practice
- collective impact initiatives
- instructional leadership.
Her significant contribution to Berry Street includes co-authoring the original practice model for the Berry Street School and her longitudinal research has explored the outcomes of the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM).
