We are delighted to once again partner with Elise Saunders, leading Therapeutic Life Story Work Practitioner (TLSW) in Australia and chair of Therapeutic Life Story Work Australia, to present this webinar.
We are all storytellers! Storytelling is a skill, that when used safely, with purpose and told authentically, has the power to create connection and support others. Storytelling allows for deeper thinking and an ability to process fact and narrative together in a non-defensive and insightful way. It provides a lasting impact for those we work with whether they be children, parents, families, carers, colleagues and professionals or the wider community.
On a practical level, the training will support professionals to understand the art of storytelling and how to create and share therapeutically safe stories when working with traumatised children and young people, families and communities. This will include an understanding of theory and its relation to practice and intervention tools, along with techniques and strategies on how to become an effective storyteller.
The session will cover:
- what is storytelling
- the importance of safe storytelling when working with traumatised children and young people
- how to create a story – strategies and techniques
- purposeful storytelling
- therapeutic tools to create and share safe stories
- crafting and building your safe stories (practice).
Who should attend?
Any professional working with traumatised children and young people, families, and communities.
