Morwell 4 Kids is a Collective Impact Initiative that works towards positive change for the children and young people of Morwell.

The initiative responds to evidence that children growing up in Morwell (Gippsland, Victoria) are developmentally vulnerable, despite there being a broad range of early childhood services within the town.

A local coalition called the Morwell Community Partnership lead the initiative. It was established with the vision of making Morwell “A Good Childhood Place”.

How it works

The partnership identifies local children’s needs throughout each stage of development: from birth through to education, as well as into early adulthood and employment and training.

Morwell 4 Kids listens and consults with:

  • children, young people, parents and families
  • businesses
  • community groups
  • community service organisations
  • local government.

It aims to build strong, resilient and supportive networks to make Morwell a place of opportunity for children.
