The Falcon Project – supporting adolescent boys using violence
The Falcon Project is an early intervention program trial in the City of Hume.
The trial provides services to male-identifying young people aged 12 to 18 years who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and are using, or are at risk of using family, domestic, and/or sexual violence.
Berry Street Take Two provides therapeutic counselling support.
Uniting, Omnia Community Health, and Care First Support Services provide navigator (case practitioner) support.
We know that many young men who use violence are victim-survivors of abuse, neglect or family violence. Early intervention will help avoid escalating their use of violence within relationships.
The Falcon Project is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Social Services.
Who can access this service?
The program is free and available to young people who are:
- 12 to 18 years of age
- male identifying (including cis, trans & non-binary people with a connection to boyhood/manhood)
- at risk of (or using) physical or sexual violence
- reside in the City of Hume

Why we are called The Falcon Project
Falcons are strong, smart birds. They fly with focus and can change direction quickly.
Like falcons, young men can learn to handle stress, understand their feelings, and use their strength in good ways.
The Falcon Project helps young men think about their actions, learn from the past, and build a future they can be proud of. We understand real strength comes from empathy, taking responsibility, and knowing that your past doesn’t have to define your future.
The Falcon Project helps young men build resilience, form safe, respectful relationships and move towards a future they can be proud of.
