Berry Street Take Two’s Trauma-informed CaRE (Communication and Regulating Emotions) program is now on the Victorian Department of Education’s Schools Mental Health Menu.
Trauma-informed CaRE is a school-based group program for vulnerable student groups. The program includes support for students, families and carers, and school staff and leadership to assist students impacted by trauma. The program provides techniques for traumatised and at-risk students, and strategies to strengthen relationships between school staff, parents/carers and students.
The Menu provides schools with opportunities to purchase evidence-based initiatives that promote mental health and wellbeing, enables schools to intervene early to support students, and provides targeted support for individual students.
We are excited about this opportunity to work with schools in Victoria to improve student mental health and wellbeing.
Victorian government schools can purchase programs from the Menu through the $200 million Schools Mental Health Fund. The Fund was rolled out to all Victorian government rural and regional schools in Term 3, 2022 and will be in all Victorian government metropolitan schools by Term 1, 2024. Schools from the following areas have already received their funding and can purchase our Trauma-informed CaRE program now:
