Harper needs your help

No child should have to imagine what it’s like to feel safe or worry when they’ll next be able to eat. They shouldn’t have head lice for so long that they develop sores on their scalp. Or fear about violence at home. Yet, this is the position Harper* was in at only seven years old.

Harper is safe now – she has been placed with a specially trained foster carer. But she needs to be supported to recover from her abuse and neglect.

We urgently need your help with services such as:

• therapy - so children like Harper can process their trauma and recover from abuse and neglect
• training foster carers so they understand how to care for children like Harper
• education services and teacher training to ensure children affected by trauma can stay in school and learn
• services to help break the cycle of family violence.

There are thousands of children just like Harper who desperately need your help. In fact, there are more than 12,000 children in Victoria right now who can’t live safely at home because of violence, abuse and neglect.
