The Berry Street Education Model Masterclasses are one-day workshops for participants to implement and sustain the Berry Street Education Model.

These special masterclass days are valuable opportunities for educators to extend their knowledge, re-connect and further their application of the model. Our masterclasses are a great way to collaborate with like-minded educators in our growing community of practice.

While each class has a different focus, we have designed the program to be informed by research, anchored in practice, and aimed at building sustainability and consistency in the Berry Street Education Model across a whole-school approach.

Understanding and responding to adverse behaviour

An exclusive masterclass with Grace Langton, Senior Manager, Berry Street Education Model

This Masterclass will provide strategies of trauma informed positive behaviour reinforcement to classroom teachers as well as school leaders. These strategies are essential for de-escalating and responding to adverse behaviour with a specific focus on approaching struggling students. This Masterclass will focus on:

  • understanding the cycle of adverse behaviour
  • how to consider the unmet need underlying the behaviour
  • strategies on how to manage escalated behaviour and incidents
  • proactive strategies staff and teachers can utilise to create a calm and routine environment
  • applying trauma-informed positive education strategies to ensure that each step in whole-school behaviour management empowers both students and teachers.

Participants will be provided with the understanding and skill development to create better outcomes for all when faced with adverse behaviour.

These masterclasses are aimed at members of school leadership teams and allied education professionals who lead school change and have already completed the Berry Street Education Model 4-day course.
