Earlier this year Saver Plus, a matched savings and financial education program developed by Brotherhood of St Laurence and ANZ, reached a significant milestone.

Since 2003, by working with partners such as Berry Street, Saver Plus has enabled more than 50,000 lower income Australians to save over $26 million for education costs, with ANZ providing matching of $21 million. Research has shown that many participants go on to establish a lasting savings habit that sees them achieve their financial goals and improve their financial wellbeing.

Saver Plus has given me so much confidence that I can achieve my goals, because of my better understanding and knowledge about money.

Fiona, Kwinana, WA

Saver Plus partners are essential to reaching and supporting individuals and families across Australia. Brotherhood of St Laurence and ANZ have worked with The Smith Family, Berry Street and The Benevolent Society to build and improve Saver Plus over the past 18 years, supported by many other local community delivery agencies.

Saver Plus and Berry Street look forward to continuing our work together to help many more Australians build a lasting savings habit!

Team member spotlight: Sharon's story

Sharon's journey with Saver Plus started in 2011, when she joined as a participant. Upon completing the program, she became a Saver Plus Coordinator with Berry Street and is now our Saver Plus Program Manager.

Sharon believes the MoneyMinded workshops are an invaluable tool for participants who want to strengthen their financial wellbeing. As a single parent herself who has gone with the program, the $500 matched savings from ANZ is a great incentive and support for building a better financial future.
