At Berry Street, we have ambitious goals. Our vision is to courageously change lives and reimagine service systems. It’s an inspiring mission, but we know we can’t do this work alone. We need to develop partnerships and relationships with others who can come on this journey with us.
That’s why we are so thankful for our supporters – those who give time, expertise, and funds. By collaborating, we know we can affect so much more change. Charities live by their volunteers and advocates.
This month, Berry Street saw this collaboration in action: Customers of Coles Balwyn participated in a donation drive, resulting in over 80 cartons of long-life milk, 46 packs of pasta, and so much more, being shared with those who need it most among Berry Street’s children, young people, and families.
At the conclusion of this drive, volunteers from the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), donated a day of work to organise and itemise this inventory at Berry Street’s central office.
Finally, local business owner, Joaquin Trapero of North Removals, collected the donations and delivered them pro bono to The Gathering Place, a service in Morwell which includes a local community pantry where the items will be distributed amongst the local community as needed.
