Meet Hendrix Pudsey, a six-year-old boy who lives in Narre Warren South with his parents and two younger brothers. He’s also a champion fundraiser!

In the midst of all the Christmas kerfuffle, he and his father Colin decided it would be a good idea to spread some joy over the holidays by giving back to children in care – and because Hendrix loves his brothers so much, he felt it best to give to Berry Street, who helps keep siblings together for Christmas.

With the help of his father, Hendrix gathered pre-loved and gently used items from around their home and set out to organise and promote a garage sale, with proceeds going to Berry Street.

After putting posters up, Hendrix and his dad eagerly awaited the day that folks would rummage through their treasure and contribute to the funds they hoped to raise.

A week later, the donations were still coming in. “Family and friends from overseas who couldn't physically attend the garage sale wanted to help Hendrix support such a worthy cause,” said Colin.

“The fundraising garage sale has come to an end, and it is with great pride that we can say that our community has come together across oceans and raised $540. Hendrix is so proud that we’re helping to ensure that siblings who thought they would be separated for Christmas will be able to stay together.”

Thanks to the kindness of many who donate this season, including the sincere intentions of one tender-hearted little boy, Berry Street is working hard to provide the best Christmas for some of the most vulnerable children in our communities.
