Dallas Ambry is the Research and Evaluation Team Leader for Take Two, overseeing the program’s research, evaluation and compliance activities. Dallas joined Berry Street in 2019 and greatly enjoys her role.
“[I get] to work in all these areas that I’m passionate about, both at the client level, through to some of the systemic issues that impact on young people’s mental health.”
Dallas’ personal values intersect with the Berry Street values. She says she relates to Accountability in particular, as it talks to evidence-informed practice.
“Part of Accountability is ensuring we’re using our resources for the best possible outcome. It’s important that everyone in the research executive believes that the tasks or jobs we take on are useful, because it will always be at the expense of something else.”
Without a set of values to guide you through difficult decision‑making, through competing demands, it can be easy to get lost... you need a true north.
Dallas is motivated by the feeling that Berry Street’s work can improve the system and empower young people, so they have the chance to thrive.
